On behalf of myself and my committee, I welcome you to the 2009 Arundel Town Festival. Together with other organisations and sponsors, to whom I owe my thanks, we hope we have created eleven days of entertainment and enjoyment both for our Arundel residents and for our visitors and holiday-makers. My personal experience of Arundel Festival's extends for nearly a quarter of a century. During that time, the nature of events naturally has changed, some items become almost traditional, others have become modified, but we think this year's programme is full of variety, from serious music to street theatre, and a great many other things, all complementary to the activities being held in and around Arundel Castle. Just read through this programme and come along and enjoy the Festival.
The Arundel Festival is full of excitement and creative energy.
Each August this wonderful historic town is alive with art, sculpture, music, theatre, street entertainments and events to interest and entertain all ages. The Festival is always a very special time to visit and discover Arundel with its wealth of fascinating shops, cafes, restaurants and attractions.
We are delighted to be working again with IML who have planned three more varied and exciting concerts with firework finales and with Candlelight Opera who are presenting Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
We are also looking forward to welcoming back to Arundel the British Shakespeare Company as they perform Much Ado About Nothing and A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the Collector Earl’s Garden. The BSC is enjoying a very busy summer. They are already sold out at Oxford and have performed to full houses in Dublin and Norwich.
My sincere thanks go to the Arundel Town Festival Committee and all participants and supporters for all of their hard work and dedication in delivering this annual event for our community and our visitors.
Please do come and support and enjoy the Festival.
Welcome
